During this New Year’s Eve Prayer Vigil we will offer prayers for peace written from a multiplicity of spiritual traditions, chant, and dance our way into the new year. In these prayers we find a common thread of God’s love and justice for all people. Join us and invite friends and neighbors of other faiths to come together at the Shrine to pray for world harmony and understanding among all peoples. Complementing our prayers from the major religious traditions, there will be a performance of several original songs of secular syncretic spirituality by Vaughn Becker and Jenifer Steuck, aka The Serpent Drops. Enjoy hymns to the perennial wisdom of our shared divinity inspired by sources like Alan Watts, Ken Keyes, and Neil deGrasse Tyson. Bring small percussion and your sacred voice, as this will be both a performance and participatory ritual. Commemorative hymnals will be provided.
