This special interest class explores the concept of Mexican folk religiosity as practiced in the desert borderlands of Mexico and the United States. Fr. Jorge shares a wealth of information examining unusual religious practices such as the veneration of ánimas or folk saints; mandas & milagritos, descansos--roadside shrines, nichos & grutas--yard shrines, and the Niño Fidencio spiritist movement.
